As an artistic expression, ceramic painting gradually separated itself from the paradigm constraints of ceramic decoration and began to become an independent ceramic art form. Ceramic painting is rooted in a profound ceramic cultural tradition, based on contemporary artistic ideas and the spirit of the times, and has formed a unique image with diverse forms and distinctive styles. Especially in recent years, many contemporary artists have actively participated in the creation of ceramic painting. They interpret new academic ideas and concepts through ceramic media, breaking the professional limitations of ceramic materials, broadening the connotation and extension of ceramic painting, and highlighting the contemporary academic context of ceramic painting.
As a parallel exhibition of "2021 Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale", "Fusion-Jingdezhen International Contemporary Ceramic Painting Nomination Exhibition" takes "fusion" as its theme, and displays the contemporary look and latest achievements of Chinese and foreign artists' ceramic paintings in the form of independent exhibitions.
